Multi-faceted approach. Relex OpSim effectively addresses multiple facets of component maintenance. You can account for onsite and offsite repairs, onsite and offsite spares, discard units, and repair resources. You can designate the rules for handling of spare allocations, as well as repair team allocations, and adjust system parameters as needed to meet reliability or cost objectives.
Integrated modeling. Relex OpSim (Optimization and Simulation) takes reliability block diagram modeling to the next level. Relex RBD and OpSim are compatible so that diagrams created and analyzed in one module can easily be accessed by the other. Relex RBD and Relex OpSim features and functions are very similar, so moving between these two high-powered modeling tools is easily mastered.

Today‘s systems and processes are complex, multi-dimensional configurations requiring sophisticated techniques for analysis. A standard reliability block diagram (RBD) process lets you compute reliability and availability. Optimization and simulation tools take this a step further by allowing you to incorporate information on maintenance activities, spare parts, and repair resources. Relex ® System Optimization and Simulation (OpSim) takes Relex RBD to a new level, providing the power necessary to model true-to-life, complex scenarios. This innovative analysis tool enables you to augment your system diagram with a broad array of maintenance-related parameters, and then invokes a powerful calculation engine to accurately compute the reliability and maintainability (R&M) metrics of your system.

Real-world maintenance modeling. Relex OpSim effectively addresses multiple facets of component maintenance including defining and allocating repair teams, stocking and shipping to and from offsite spares pools, and more. You can define maintenance plans that specify the time interval, cost, and the type of maintenance being performed. You can also specify labor costs and designate if repair is partial or perfect.

High-end optimization algorithms. The Relex OpSim system simulation engine incorporates comprehensive optimization algorithms, allowing you to compute crucial system factors such as spares quantities, optimal preventive maintenance intervals, and optimal inspection intervals. You choose the goal you want to achieve—minimal costs, maximum reliability, or maximum capacity—and let Relex OpSim do the work. The results provide you with the most efficient and cost-effective use of your maintenance resources.

The Relex Architect platform. Relex OpSim includes all the advanced features of Relex Architect’s robust, proven framework. A rich user interface is coupled with innovative features such as the invaluable Project Navigator for centralized Project control, the Relex Bar for customized one-click operations, the Task List for quick access to commonly used tasks, and data filtering for ultimate user control of data views. Comprehensive reporting capabilities include easy-to-use Report and Graph Wizards for complete user customization of output reports and graphs. Relex’s Import/Export Wizard enables you to transfer your Project data to and from Relex in a variety of popular formats, including Microsoft Excel ® and Access ® . Additionally, Relex Architect modules are built on a common database, for optimal product integration and data sharing capabilities.

Built for the enterprise. Relex’s Enterprise Edition supports the high performance, scalable needs of large user bases. Features such as support for Microsoft SQL Server ® and Oracle ® databases, permission based security, user and group roles, front end web interfaces, Relex Dashboard for a high-level overview of system metrics, audit trails for tracking data modifications, and customizable data connectors insure that Relex meets the needs of full scale, enterprise-wide teams.

The power of optimization. Relex OpSim allows you to define repair personnel and repair teams and assign them to specific diagram components. The simulation engine accounts for the parameters you define, such as personnel availability and hourly rates, when determining overall maintenance time and the availability of components. Relex OpSim eliminates the costly assumption that all repairs are 100% successful by allowing you to specify degradation factors on all backup and repaired components. You can also associate a fixed cost with the repair of a component, which Relex OpSim takes into account each time the component fails. You can assign costs to various capacity levels to have Relex OpSim determine the downtime-dependent or capacity-dependent costs of the system being modeled. Using Relex’s unique data share feature, you can efficiently model systems that incorporate shared components.
