Parts Libraries Make Your Job Easier A major advantage of the Relex Reliability Prediction software is the availability of extremely large parts libraries. These libraries contain hundreds of thousands of parts with their associated data parameters, and provide for significant time savings. With an active Relex Maintenance Plan, you can gain access to monthly and quarterly updates. The Relex libraries contain a great deal of part data which is automatically retrieved based on part number. The major part parameters needed for reliability calculations are available, and only the operating conditions particular to your design need to be entered. The data included in the Relex libraries varies, dependent on part type. For example, parameters for integrated circuits include the number of pins, number of gates or transistors, power dissipation, and thermal resistance, while resistor parameters include the rated power dissipation and resistance value. Powerful SQL Library Browse and Search Engine Relex provides a powerful SQL library browse and search engine that allows you to display library parts that match a given condition. For example, you can search for all part numbers in which '877' appears, or all parts that are op amps, or you can simply display all parts in all of the libraries. To perform a library search, you simply enter a part number. Relex automatically searches the libraries for the given number. You do not even need to enter an exact part number, because Relex will automatically perform a "fuzzy" search for similar names. When a part is found, all the associated data is retrieved from the libraries. The Relex libraries are organized and searched in a very efficient manner, which facilitates impressive search speeds.
Relex PRISM Provides Access to NPRD and EPRD Libraries The Electronic Parts Reliability Data (EPRD-97) and the Nonelectronic Parts Reliability Data (NPRD-95, though sometimes incorrectly referred to as NPRD-98), which are published by the Reliability Analysis Center (RAC), each include a wide variety of components. Users with a licensed version of Relex PRISM can access parts from both the NPRD95 and EPRD libraries for all of their Relex projects. Having these NPRD and EPRD failure rate databases at your fingertips greatly broadens the options for your prediction analyses. Incorporate Your Own Data with User-Defined Libraries Relex can also access part data from user-defined parts libraries. You can create your own custom parts libraries and use them alone or in conjunction with the Relex parts libraries. The correlation feature enables you to easily use your in-house part numbers instead of the industry part numbers in the Relex libraries. You create a Correlation Table that associates Relex part numbers to your in-house part numbers. Once the Correlation Table is created, Relex will continually recognize your in-house numbers as well as the Relex part numbers. Numerous Parts Libraries Provide Comprehensive Information
The Relex parts libraries are divided into smaller libraries based on part type. This level of organization helps to use processor resources more efficiently and to increase search speed.

Maintenance Plan Allows for Monthly Library Updates One of the benefits of a Relex Maintenance Plan is access to monthly and quarterly parts libraries updates. Each month, the Relex Components Division adds approximately 1,000 new parts to the libraries, and quarterly updates add an additional 20,000 parts. Only customers with an active Relex Maintenance Plan are eligible to download these update files. |
