Customizable graphics. Custom graphical capabilities enable you to graph your Relex RBD results any way you choose. Based on your selected metrics, the graphics module will graph your computed reliability and availability parameters in a variety of formats. The visual representation of your RBD results provides instant feedback for system evaluation.
The power to produce results. Coupling a flexible diagramming tool with a powerful analytical and simulation engine, Relex RBD allows you to model complex, real-world systems with ease. Once diagramming is complete, Relex RBD can compute a wide range of reliability metrics. The intelligent system analyzer determines the most efficient technique to employ for computing system metrics, and then invokes the powerful analytical or simulation engine to produce results.

Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) techniques are unmatched for analyzing the reliability metrics of complex, large scale systems. By providing support for redundant configurations and other real-world scenarios, RBDs enable you to accurately evaluate your true system metrics. Relex ® RBD is a complete, fully-featured graphical reliability block diagram evaluator. After constructing your system model onscreen, Relex RBD’s sophisticated calculation engine does the rest—providing fast, accurate reliability and maintainability results. Relex RBD performs a wide range of calculations: availability, reliability, unavailability, MTBF, failure rate, expected number of failures, mean unavailability, total downtime, failure frequency, and hazard rate.

Behind-the-scenes power. At the core of Relex RBD is a highly intelligent computational engine. First, each diagram is analyzed to determine the best approach for problem solving using pure analytical solutions, simulation, or a combination of both. Once a methodology is determined, the powerful Relex RBD calculations are engaged to produce fast, accurate results.

Monte Carlo simulation. The Monte Carlo simulation engine is performance-tuned so that simulations are done in the most efficient way. With an impressive trio of computational accuracy, speed, and performance, the Relex simulation engine is the true power behind Relex RBD. The Monte Carlo engine supports a number of failure and repair distributions including exponential, lognormal, normal, Rayleigh, Weibull, time independent, constant time, and uniform. A wide range of diagram types are supported including simple series, parallel operating, standby redundant, bridge networks, and any type of random network configuration.

The Relex Architect platform. Relex RBD includes all the advanced features of Relex Architect’s robust, proven framework. A rich user interface is coupled with innovative features such as the invaluable Project Navigator for centralized Project control, the Relex Bar for customized one-click operations, the Task List for quick access to commonly used tasks, and data filtering for ultimate user control of data views. Comprehensive reporting capabilities include easy-to-use Report and Graph Wizards for complete user customization of output reports and graphs. Relex’s Import/Export Wizard enables you to transfer your Project data to and from Relex in a variety of popular formats, including Microsoft Excel ® and Access ® . Additionally, Relex Architect modules are built on a common database, for optimal product integration and data sharing capabilities.

Built for the enterprise. Relex’s Enterprise Edition supports the high performance, scalable needs of large user bases. Features such as support for Microsoft SQL Server ® and Oracle ® databases, permission based security, user and group roles, front end web interfaces, Relex Dashboard for a high-level overview of system metrics, audit trails for tracking data modifications, and customizable data connectors insure that Relex meets the needs of full scale, enterprise-wide teams.
